Chris Jenne is a Senior Project Manager with John Burton Advocates for Youth on the education team. Chris joins the team after serving nine years in homeless services in Los Angeles county. Previously, he managed the Coordinated Entry System for Youth where he led the Higher Education Homeless Workgroup, oversaw the Campus Peer Navigator program, and positive youth development programs, such as Connect LA. At JBAY, Chris will be supporting efforts to address postsecondary educational attainment and student homelessness in higher education.
Chris is a first-generation college student with a M.S. in Community Psychology from Marymount California University and a B.S. in Political Science from SUNY Potsdam. He credits his success to the support he received in EOP. Originally from northern New York, Chris is a strong believer in public service. He has served two years in AmeriCorps providing disaster recovery relief on the east coast for Hurricane Sandy and housing homeless youth in LA County. Additionally, he volunteered at a suicide crisis hotline where his mentors empowered him to pursue a path of helping others. He harnesses his lived-experience and direct service work to fuel his why and is excited to be part of a team dedicated towards building a better future for homeless and foster youth.
