Roster of FYI/FUP Voucher County Points-of-Contact & Partners

Last Updated Nov 3, 2023

This roster lists the point-of-contact for each county that offers Housing Choice Vouchers for transitioning foster youth through the Family Unification Program (FUP) or Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) Initiative.

The roster includes the county child welfare agency, their partnering Public Housing Authority, and their contracted service provider (if applicable) for youth with vouchers.

The roster also indicates whether the county’s housing authority requests vouchers for youth on an on-demand basis as youth in need are identified, and whether the housing authority offers the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program.

more about fyi/fup

FYI/FUP vouchers provide a 36-month rental subsidy (through the voucher provided by the housing authority), paired with supportive services provided or secured through the county child welfare agency. Eligible youth are 18-24 (have not yet turned 25), and are either 90 days from leaving foster care or have left foster care.

more about fss

FSS extends FUP/FYI vouchers for an additional two years (for a total of five years), and provides youth with additional financial resources through a form of savings plan. If FSS is not available, youth can access the voucher extension via participation conditions.
