An important housing resource is available for youth who remained in foster care after age 21 due to the pandemic and now face the December 31, 2021 “housing cliff:” the Emergency Rental Assistance Program. In California, this program is called the COVID-19 Rent Relief Program and it can use used to pay “unpaid or future rent or utilities.”
Please join John Burton Advocates for Youth (JBAY) on Thursday, November 4th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. for a web seminar to learn how to help youth access this important program. Panelists will include representatives from JBAY and Public Counsel, which is administering the COVID-19 Rent Relief Program in Los Angeles.
Panelists will explain program eligibility, step through the on-line application, provide guidance about how foster youth should answer specific questions given their unique circumstances and answer your questions.
