Ten years ago, Jasmine Amons was working as a Program Associate at the National Center for Youth Law (NCYL), when JBAY and several other organizations came together to launch the Reproductive Health Equity Project, an initiative to support and advance the health and wellbeing of youth in foster care. “I remember JBAY staff members’ clear-eyed insights and strong commitment as a partner on that project,” Jasmine says. “That stuck with me.”
In the years since, she worked as the Senior Grants and Policy Analyst with the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department, where she supported the department’s implementation of statewide and federal policy reforms.
Last month, Jasmine joined JBAY as the Senior Development and Grants Manager, focused on supporting fundraising efforts. She sees her role as both storyteller and cheerleader. “I’m excited to collect, share, and amplify stories about the amazing young people JBAY works with, as well as the meaningful reforms JBAY staff research, advance, and implement on behalf of youth in foster care or experiencing homelessness,” she says.
Jasmine is inspired by her mother, a single parent who earned her bachelor’s degree when Jasmine was in middle school. She followed suit, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Italian Studies from UC Berkeley.
Outside of work, Jasmine loves live music (“I aim to attend at least two music festivals a year,” she says, with a particular devotion to Coachella in Indio, California), and has more recently acquired a passion for watching sports.
Hooked by the 2026 World Cup, she is learning about the English Premier League and La Liga, and often turns to a favorite quote from A League of Their Own in moments she needs to dig deep: “It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it.” We are honored and thrilled to welcome Jasmine to our team!
