With a diverse background spanning various industries, Lorris has garnered experience primarily in social services, having worked with the local child welfare state government agency in Sydney, Australia. Relocating to Vancouver, Canada, Lorris transitioned into the realm of higher education, student services area in both private and public institutions.
Having now settled in San Francisco, Lorris joined John Burton Advocates for Youth as the Office Manager in 2023, to support the administrative, financial, and operational functions within the organization to help serve the homeless and foster youth.
John Burton Advocates for Youth improves the quality of life for youth in California who have been in foster care or homeless by advocating for better laws, training communities to strengthen local practices and conducting research to inform policy solutions.
