With a diverse background spanning various industries, Lorris has garnered experience primarily in social services, having worked with the local child welfare state government agency in Sydney, Australia. Relocating to Vancouver, Canada, Lorris transitioned into the realm of higher education, student services area in both private and public institutions.
After settling in San Francisco, Lorris joined John Burton Advocates for Youth as the Office Manager in 2023. Currently, Lorris is the Administration and Finance Manager providing support in the administrative, financial, and operational functions of the organization, contributing to its mission of advocating for foster and homeless youth in California.
John Burton Advocates for Youth improves the quality of life for youth in California who have been in foster care or homeless by advocating for better laws, training communities to strengthen local practices and conducting research to inform policy solutions.
