Esme Nuno Mora is a sociology major at UC Berkeley, set to graduate in Spring 2026. As a former McKinney-Vento Unaccompanied Homeless Youth, she is deeply committed to raising awareness of underrepresented youth impacted by the child welfare system. Esme aspires to influence legislative changes that ensure foster and homeless students receive the resources and support they need to succeed. Her research focuses on creating pathways to higher education for Unaccompanied Homeless Youth in K-12, driven by her passion for empowering others to pursue their dreams, no matter their circumstances.
John Burton Advocates for Youth improves the quality of life for youth in California who have been in foster care or homeless by advocating for better laws, training communities to strengthen local practices and conducting research to inform policy solutions.
