Brandon Torres is a Project Manager with John Burton Advocates for Youth in the Housing and Economic Mobility team where he focuses on expanding housing opportunities for youth experiencing homelessness. Brandon brings over a decade of experience analyzing and improving public programs related to homelessness and housing in both public agencies and nonprofit organizations.
Before joining JBAY, Brandon worked on projects such as the allocation of 2,100 Emergency Housing Vouchers throughout Los Angeles County, oversight of homelessness outreach contracts for the City of Santa Monica, and the management of three Project Homekey programs during the Covid-19 epidemic. Brandon also worked with the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to pass policy implementing a Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool program.
Brandon holds a Master of Public Administration from San Diego State University where he focused on implementing county policy to support the implementation of regionwide Safe Injection Sites. In addition, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Gender Studies from CSU San Marcos.
John Burton Advocates for Youth improves the quality of life for youth in California who have been in foster care or homeless by advocating for better laws, training communities to strengthen local practices and conducting research to inform policy solutions.
