Tax Filing 101: Expanded Federal and State Tax Credits Put Money in the Pockets of Transition-Age Youth
Last updated Feb, 1 2022
This webinar discussed strategies to help transition-age youth file their taxes correctly, free of charge, and access tax credits including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC). Both the EITC and CalEITC have been recently expanded, becoming more accessible to transition-age youth, including those who have been in foster care or homeless. Youth who file have the potential to receive a tax return of hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Webinar presenters included the California Franchise Tax Board, Santa Clara County Social Services Agency, and Law Foundation of Silicon Valley.
