Please join John Burton Advocates for Youth (JBAY) for a webinar on California’s Basic Needs Centers. As recent legislation requires all of California’s community colleges to develop basic needs centers, understanding the learnings from colleges at the forefront of this work is essential. This webinar will explore best practices and recommendations for the community college sector gleaned from John Burton Advocates for Youth’s year-long community of practice that included seven community college campuses across the state. The webinar and corresponding report will share insights that can serve as guideposts for developing a healthy infrastructure and strategic partnerships to effectively meet the basic needs of student populations. It will also feature experienced practitioners from Mt. San Antonio and San Joaquin Delta Colleges and highlight key recommendations to support the ongoing work of addressing college students’ basic needs to promote academic success and retention.
