Andy Lomeli is a Housing and Health Project Manager at John Burton Advocates for Youth. He has built over a decade of experience in public policy, working as an advocate in Washington, DC, and as an analyst for the state of California. A graduate of both the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and the Public Policy & International Affairs Institute, Andy is passionate about helping create a pipeline to policy careers for underserved communities.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Andy currently serves on the Board of Directors for CityHearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts and previously served on the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council. An accomplished comedian/writer, he has been recognized as an official selection for the Burbank Comedy Festival and Los Angeles Diversity in Comedy Festival. Andy earned a B.A. in History from Stanford University and a Master’s in Public Policy from UC Berkeley.
John Burton Advocates for Youth improves the quality of life for youth in California who have been in foster care or homeless by advocating for better laws, training communities to strengthen local practices and conducting research to inform policy solutions.
